Mr. Daniel Kwaku Ntow Obese was born on 18th January 1950 at Pinpon, in Anum Apapam, Ghana. He started his elementary education at the St. Andrew Anglican Primary School and later attended the Presbyterian Primary School in Anum. In 1965, he joined the Presbyterian Boys' Boarding School and Suhum Secondary Technical School for his secondary education, which he completed in 1970. His passion for civil engineering led him to Takoradi Polytechnic to pursue a diploma in civil engineering and later to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he specialised in Hydro-Engineering. Mr Obese’s career spanned decades at the Architectural Engineering Services Corporation (A.E.S.C), where he made significant contributions as Regional Hydrologist in Takoradi and Cape Coast. He became known for his expertise in hydraulics, fluid mechanics, and soil mechanics, which impacted the hydrological infrastructure in Ghana's Western and Central regions. In 1985, Daniel married Elizabeth Okae Bitherman, and they were blessed with three children. His faith was central to his life, and he was deeply involved in the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG). Baptised in 1958, he held several key roles within the church, including Presbyter and Caretaker of the PCG Unity Congregation at Nkanfoa, where he served until his retirement in 2020. He was instrumental in acquiring land for a permanent church building, overseeing the design and construction of an auditorium and a Children's Service building, projects he supported until his passing. Even after retirement, Daniel continued to consult on various projects, sharing his vast expertise. Known for his kindness, generosity, and humour, Daniel was a beloved figure in his community. He passed away in 2021, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and excellence. His memory remains cherished by all who knew him.
